Wynfield area was established in Huntersville, NC in 1988 and is just north of Charlotte on I-77. Huntersville began to see rapid growth in the mid 1990's and the Wynfield area is comprised of three subdivisions, Wynfield, Wynfield Forest and Wynfield Creek.
Wynfield's homes were built from 1993 to 1995 time frame. Several builders were involved in the development of Wynfield including the major builder like D.R. Horton, John Wieland Homes and ,Trotter Builders,
One of Wynfield's most prominent features is the trees. The builder kept many of the large existing trees in place and over time many, many more have matured providing a tree lined street look in many cases. Home styles are traditional Colonials and ranch style. Wynfield has the classic suburban neighborhood feel with lots of people walking and jogging on the street. The Wynfield community also has pool with swim team, tennis courts, clubhouse which is available for residents and social events.
Wynfiled Forest has many of the same amenities as Wynfield, with its tree lined streets, neighborhood pool with swim team, playground, basketball and volleyball courts.
Wynfield Creek does not have a community pool but residents may have the option to join one of the sister neighborhood pools and swim teams.
